Hello again,
Well it turns out I lied, I didn’t end up doing anything that weekend, I also didn’t end up doing much at all last week. So we can just all pretend that last week didn’t exist. Okay? Good.
So what is the current game looking like? Well thanks for asking, it’s looking very good, we are at the point in the project where we are just adding in a few missing mechanics and making everything look and sound nice.
I found out the true purpose of a programmer on Wednesday, while my team member Philip was placing my enemies around the map, he was getting annoyed about the way he had to change the rotation of the enemies so they would scan in the direction he wanted. So I quickly edited the script so he just had to set how far from the original angle he wanted the enemy to turn, and done! Simple thing, but figured out that a programmer is there to make everyone’s life easier.
So what’s do be done on the game now? Well I have to get a score system working, I have the data for it all set up, I just need to implement it and make a screen. Sounds need to be put in the game, I’ve recorded me saying a couple things, and I need to go and make some throwing, walking and dying sounds.
So I won’t say I’ll have another blog out this week, even though I’m apparently supposed to have a blog for each change I make to the game, but that sounds like shit and that’s what a change log is for. So I think I’ll just continue to make these longish blogs each week. Well try to make one each week.
I guess I’ll post a blog on Monday (though I said I wouldn’t say that) because that will mark the end of the current project “First Snow” and we should have already started on the second project.
Nathan Out!
