Week 2: It's Alive!!!

AAHH!!! I did it!

I was sitting at my computer last night, and I thought to myself, “hell I can’t let this animation beat me, this is supposed to be easy so I’m going to do it tonight.” Well I certainly did do it, it could use a little tweaking, but it looks so cool.

I didn’t realise how late it was when I finished it, I changed a couple things, figured out some things that I was doing wrong. Fixed them up, tested it, tweaking it a little, got it to a good state and then when I thought to myself, “I did it!” my head instantly got super heavy and almost face planted my desk, turns out it was about 5:00AM. So not a bad effort on my part.

I think my next task is to make it look like there is an arrow on the bow when it is being drawn and then make it disappear when it is released.

My current goal with the game, is to get the Archery game play feeling good, I feel like for the game that is the most important thing to get done. Once that is done I’ll start working on getting AI in the game. Or even better I’ll work on giving the player character an actual body.

I have been thinking a bit about the game play and I was thinking it would be cool to, instead having people catching arrows, they each have a little shield like pad on their arms that they use to block the arrow. But we will see.
