Week 3: Blood Arrow Update!

Well it’s time for an update. I was holding off giving an update, until I got the bow working, but it’s done now, and as you can hopefully see in the gif above, it doesn’t look that bad.

Here is a list of all the things that were added into the game.

  • Arrow can be picked up when walked over

  • Arrow can now be pulled back with bow

  • Right click can draw the bow

  • Left click will fire the bow

  • Sound for drawing bow

  • Sound for Releasing bow

  • Sound when arrow lands

  • Sounds when arrow pickup

There are still a couple of things I need to fix with the bow, such as make the arrow sit to the side of the bow grip, and not go through the centre of it.

So my next task is to add in a character model, you can see the start of that in the Gif, with the character model, I’ll make it hold the bow and an arrow, so it looks as if the person is drawing the bow. Doing this will not only make the game look better, it will make putting in Ai so much easier, because they will be actual people running around and not floating bows.

Well that is it for now, I’ll post another update when I make some progress.
